It’s almost here!

At Merit Baptist Church, our mission is to make disciples who grow in their passion for God and compassion for people.

This mission takes place through three strategic emphases, all of which build our overarching discipleship pathway.

1. Make disciples through Reaching Hearts.

We labor to see people become adopted, committed, and connected to our church family.

2. Grow in their passion for God through Changing Lives.

We come along side people to grow in their love for Christ through obedience, prayer, and faithfulness.

3. Grow in they compassion for people through Expanding the Kingdom.  We equip people to love others as a mentor, servant and missionary. 

OUR DISCIPLESHIP PATHWAY

Integrated within our mission strategy are nine values of disciples of Jesus.  These provide the goal for spiritual maturity we labor to achieve in our members.

Reaching Hearts

1. Adopted:  Making a profession of faith that Christ is your Lord and Savior

2. Committed:  Make a public profession of faith through baptism and church membership.

3. Connected:  Attend church regularly and join a life group.

Changing Lives

4. Obedient:  Demonstrating our passion for Christ by studying and obeying the Scriptures.

5. Prayerful:  Having a transparent dialogue with God.

6. Faithful:  Become trustworthy, loyal, and dependable in our relationship with God and others.

Expanding the Kingdom

7. Mentor:  Sharing our faith with others and teaching them to love Jesus.

8. Servant:  Using our spiritual gifts to meet the needs of others in the church.

9.  Missionary:  Seeking out the lost as we go through life and looking to go where God wants to send us.
